Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui is a comprehensive medical academic journal sponsored by Anhui Medical University. Academic journals primarily publishing medical research, medical achievements, and progress, publicly distributed domestically and internationally. The organizer is Anhui Medical University, and the supervisory unit is the Education Department of Anhui Province. The current editor-in-chief is Prof Weng Jianping, a renowned expert in endocrinology and metabolism.

The Southeast Medical Journal and the New Medicine were published in April 1927 during the 16th year of the Republic of China, and were jointly published with the Journal of the Republic of China Medical Association and the Social Medical Journal in 1934. They were named New Medicine and published monthly. Initiator: Chen Fangzhi and Mr. Wang Qizhang, the school board member. The end of the Anti Japanese War was interrupted. 

On June 1, 1955, Anhui Medical College Journal hosted the medical academic journal Anhui Medical College Journal, which is an internal resource. During the current period, Comrade Li Guangtao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the hospital, delivered a speech. Under the care and support of the hospital leaders, Comrade Jiang Huiming established an editorial room and presided over the work, which was published in two issues that year. In 1956, 1-2 combined issues (total 3rd issue) were published, but were later discontinued.

 In 1958, with the approval of the Propaganda Department of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee, An Medical Daily was established as a quarterly publication, with the first volume that year. The first issue was delivered by Comrade Chen Ren, Secretary of the Party Committee. By 1964, a total of 7 volumes and 30 issues had been published (during which 1960 was a bimonthly issue). Discontinued publication in 1965. 

Anhui Medicine resumed publication in 1972 and was renamed Anhui Medicine, a quarterly publication. The editorial room of the journal has been renamed as the editorial group of the journal, which is under the jurisdiction of the Party Committee Office and is under the responsibility of Comrade Zhu Guanghua. By 1973, a total of 10 issues were published (including 1 additional issue per year).

 In 1974, during the period of An Medical Daily, the magazine resumed its publication name and was distributed nationwide from the post office, with a postal code of 26-36. From 1974 to 1976, it was a quarterly publication, and from 1977 to 1980, it was a bimonthly publication with a maximum circulation of 10500 copies per issue. The person in charge was led by Group Leader Yu Shikun. In 1979, the editorial board of An Medical Daily was established, with Comrade Shi Minyan as the chairman and Comrade Jiang Huiming as the director of the editorial department. Between 1974 and 1980, the editorial department of the journal also edited and published a series of books, including "20 Lectures on Clinical Pharmacology", "20 Lectures on Clinical Biochemistry", "Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Treatment of Burns", and "Fundamentals and Clinical Immunology". 

In 1981, with the approval of the Anhui Provincial Press and Publication Bureau, the Journal of Anhui Medical College was renamed as the Journal of Anhui Medical College (Anhui Provincial Press and Publication Registration Certificate No. 051), a quarterly publication. At the end of 1984, the school adjusted its editorial board, with Comrade Xu Jianping as the chairman and Comrade Xu Shuyun as the vice chairman and director of the editorial department.

 In 1985, during the period of the   Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui, our university was renamed as Anhui Medical University, and the journal was renamed as the Journal of Anhui Medical University. Xu Shuyun served as the Chairman of the Editorial Committee. In 1988, the newspaper was re registered with the unified domestic publication number CN34-1065, and the editor in chief was  Gong Xiyu. In 1990, the editorial board of the journal was adjusted, and Xu Shuyun was appointed as the chairman and editor in chief. In 1992, Huanghe Sheng was appointed as the director of the editorial department. In 1995, the journal was changed to a bimonthly publication. In 2001, the school established a publishing center responsible for editing, managing, and guiding the editorial and publishing work of various journals of Anhui Medical University. Comrade Huanghe Sheng was appointed as the director, and the publishing center was directly managed by the president.  Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui is one of the main journals of the center, with Zhang Xuejun serving as the director of the editorial board and editor in chief. Sun Yong, the deputy director of the publishing center, was responsible for the editing and publishing work of the Journal of Anhui Medical University. In 2009, Xia Qing, Deputy Director of the Publishing Center, was responsible for the editing and publishing of the Journal of Anhui Medical University. In 2011, it was changed to a monthly publication. In 2014, Professor Cao Yunxia served as the editor in chief of the editorial board of the journal. In 2023, Xia Qing was appointed as the director of the Publication Centre. In 2024, Weng Jianping, a famous expert in endocrinology and metabolism, was appointed as the editor-in-chief of the editorial board of the journal, and Xia Qing was appointed as the full-time deputy editor-in-chief and director of the editorial department.

Award situation of  Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui in the past decade: In 2013, it was awarded as an excellent journal in the East China region, in 2016, it was awarded as an excellent scientific and technological journal in the editing and publishing quality of Chinese universities. In 2017, it was awarded the 6th Excellent Journal Award in the East China Region and Anhui Province Excellent University Journal. In 2018, it was awarded the "Top Ten Anhui Edition Journals" and the "Annual Excellent Scientific and Technological Journals of Chinese Universities. From 2019 to 2020, it was awarded as an excellent journal in the East China region. In 2022, the" Basic Medical Research "column was rated as a" Excellent Column "by the Anhui Provincial Press and Publication Bureau (September 2017-September 2022). From 2021-2023, it was included in the" World Influence Index of Scientific and Technological Journals (WJCI) Report "(QJCI). From 2018 to 2022, it was selected as a demonstration case library for the construction of Chinese university science and technology journals and an excellent science and technology journal. In 2023, it was organized by the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Department of Education, and The Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Provincial Association for Science and Technology jointly launched the first Anhui Province Science and Technology Journals "Top Ten" series selection as the "Top Ten Science and Technology Journals". The inclusion status of the database in the Journal of Anhui Medical University includes Chemical Abstracts (Online Edition) from the United States, Copernicus Index from Poland, Life Science Abstracts Database from Cambridge Scientific Abstracts Society, ProQeust Database from Cambridge Scientific Abstracts Society, Agricultural Abstracts Database, Global Public Health Database, Chinese Medical Abstracts, Chinese Pharmaceutical Abstracts, Chinese Biological Abstracts, and Chinese Science and Technology Information Catalogue CSTA、CD-CMCC、WPRIM、Abstracts of Chinese Medicine、 More than 20 domestic and foreign search journals and data are included, including the Chinese Academic Journal CD version, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Biomedical Literature Database, Google Academic Search, VIP Database, Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database, and Wanfang Database.
