With the consent of Anhui Provincial Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and organised by Provincial Periodical Association to carry out the 6th East China Excellent Periodicals Recommendation Declaration and Initial Evaluation (the selection and recommendation activities after three stages of self-declaration of periodicals, qualification examination by Provincial Periodical Association and re-assessment by the established expert committee), a total of 13 excellent periodicals of social sciences, and 12 excellent periodicals of self-focused sciences have been evaluated. This journal was awarded the title of the Sixth East China Outstanding Journal.

In addition, according to the statistics of metrics published in the Annual Report of Impact Factor of Chinese Academic Journals (Natural Science and Engineering Technology-2017 Edition), the Journal of Anhui Medical University has an impact index (CI) of 445.374, an impact index (CI) discipline ranking of 35/209, a compound impact factor of 0.963, and an impact factor discipline ranking of 22/ 209.
